Dr. Walter Jean is Professor of Neurological Surgery and Director of skull base neurosurgery at the George Washington University. A native of Hong Kong, he is a graduate of Princeton University and Cornell University Medical College.

Keening interested in neurosurgical education, Dr. Jean was program director of the Georgetown University Neurosurgery Residency, and his current focus is on the use of Virtual Reality for neurosurgical training around the world. With his colleagues from the Global BrainSurgery Initiative, Dr. Jean operates in Vietnam and Panama annually for educational missions. Dr. Jean is the creator of "Skull Base Surgery: Strategies," a textbook published by Thieme in 2019.
